will.i.amは新曲「East L.A.」でカリフォルニア州全域で行われているICE (移民税関取締局)の摘発を批判しました。

長年のBlack Eyed Peasの仲間であるTabooと共に、ラッパー兼プロデューサーであるwill.i.amはロサンゼルスの文化を祝福する意図を示しています。

曲中のwill.i.amの歌詞では「I love Mexicanas from the Border / Make her my wife so ICE won’t deport her (国境出身のメキシカーナが好きだ。妻にすればICEが彼女を追放できない)」と歌われています。

さらに、楽曲のビデオ内で彼はこう述べています「Black people, my ancestors, know exactly some version of what’s happening right now. We’ve been through what you guys are going through right now.
